With nearly half of the popularion of the endemic Wrybill found at Miranda, and over 100 migratory bird species gracing the western shores of the Firth of Thames, the Pukorokoro Miranda Shorebird Centre is a mandatory stop for any birdwatcher passing by. Look out for Godwits who arrive in October, making the shell flats home before migrating back to Alaska and Russia in March.
